My experiment is going so so. .. but this is not Aldi’s fault it’s mine. First of all old habits are hard to break. Before when I went there I would be stocking up because I wasn’t sure when I’d be going back . I went often but I liked to make sure I had a stock of things I preferred to buy there. I’m going weekly, with a list. .. but I think my mind still tells me get extra. So I go in and buy 3 things of flour… I think I have 5 bags of flour right now.
Besides the fact that old habits die hard is one of a few problems that I’ve run into. ..
- I’ve been baking from scratch so I’ve been purchasing things to bake. I’ve been excited about this so I’ve been baking a little more then I planned to be when I made this plan.
- They are full of so many amazing things. .. and due to the time of year they are full of extra special things 🙂 my recent obsession is this almond extract I’ve been using in my coffee . It may be seasonal so I’m buying extra just incase
- They have toys for the holidays… and I shop with a toddler. My baby doesn’t ask for toys , but my toddler does. They aren’t expensive but it adds up. Last week I took my 10 year old. The toddler begged, and in a moment of weakness I gave in. So to be fair I told my 10 year old he could get something. .. and he grabs a $14.99 Stars Wars toy….go figures!
I don’t think my experiment is going to be a total fail, but I’m thinking I may have picked a bad month to place any bets on it. I think that I should make it to the end of the month on budget. I’m going to continue my experiment into January . December may turn into my practice run!
